Platform enables workplace teams to communicate with higher fidelity, empathy, and honesty, bridging gaps in human understanding and unlocking collaborative potential

United States, 7th Sep 2026 — Vera has launched, offering workers an empathic AI communications companion that facilitates context-aware communication in the workplace. Designed for people who may struggle with hidden dynamics and “unwritten rules” of status and manipulation, Vera functions as a bilateral witness that understands both parties in a workplace dynamic separately. The technology holds each person’s context privately, and gives the employee the infrastructure to take responsibility for their own truth without exposing themselves to backlash. It helps workplace teams communicate with higher fidelity, empathy, and honesty, bridging gaps in human understanding and unlocking collaborative potential.

Created by Jesse Lambert, an autist and schizophrenic who dropped out of the workplace after finding communication to be a minefield with unpredictable rules, Vera was created because of Lambert’s interest in deciphering social transaction games he learned from keith johnstone’s status transaction theory from his book Impro and Sean Webb’s Equation of Emotion. He explained, “I launched Vera to remove hidden barriers, harmonize human-to-human context, and turn volatile or confusing interactions into structured, transparent dialogue.

The Founding Theory Behind Vera.place

The founding theory behind Vera is that people in a workplace tend to like playing games around status transactions, excluding others, and setting up invisible pecking orders. For Lambert, this reality leads to having to handle two jobs: the official job in the job description, and the endless and exhausting work of decoding the secret signals and social structures that define how an organization actually works.

As Lambert put it, “Vera is an attempt to use AI to empathically surface the emotions not visible to a person to allow them to communicate well with and without ai assistance to participate agentically in status transactions games instead of being the eternal victim.”

He added, “For years. Growing up, living with autism meant standing before looming, elevated authority figures without understanding the hidden context or reasons behind the anger, feeling completely trapped on the couch while being yelled at like a subject under tyrant kings. That same paralyzing dynamic repeated in a minimum-wage workplace, forcing a retreat from the traditional job market onto disability out of sheer fear of human interaction. But that exile revealed a critical flaw in human dynamics: traditional workplace interaction is full of unstated expectations, mismanaged noise, and low-fidelity signal. This is the problem I am attempting to solve with Vera.”

Applying the Webb Equation of Emotion

Vera’s emotional intelligence engine is the Webb Equation of Emotion (EP Δ P = ER) created by Sean Webb. According to the Webb Equation, Emotional Perception (EP), shifted by a change in Perspective (P), produces an Emotional Response (ER). This is known as the Webb Equation of Emotion formula, with emotional inputs leading to emotional outputs. This is not a sentiment classifier. Rather, it is a precision framework for naming what is actually happening inside an employee’s experience, at the level of the specific self-map item under threat. It does not define a vague category of “frustration” or “stress.”

Vera applies WEoE at the individual self-map level. Emotions are named against specific quadrants, e.g., the employee’s current sense of their own position, their experience of the relational dynamic, what is actually under threat. Vera states her read as a perspective, not a declaration. For example, it might say, “I am reading that as Anger at a loss of agency — am I reading the Anger right?” It would not say, “you’re angry.” Vera owns the interpretation and holds it open to correction without hedging before naming it.

WEoE is active in every Vera session, from the first message. Vera is grounded only in what the employee actually said — depth is proportional to input depth, and she never invents situation, history, or arc that the employee has not supplied.
